And to get somewhere, you have to run at least twice as fast! ©
There is a suspicion that many countries that belonged to the DEVELOPING category have quietly moved into the DEGRADING category or at risk. Degradation is a process opposite to development and progress, moreover, in absolutely simple economic metrics. (not a scientific article... - reflection).
How did this happen?
About 50-60 years ago, all countries of the world were moving towards progress. Some are faster, some are slower, and globalization has contributed to this. Businesses needed to expand markets, so when the markets in developed countries were exhausted, competition forced them to try to sell in developing countries. The world is divided into developed and developing, implying that they have not yet reached the level of developed, but are moving in this direction. Then, competition also forced them to reduce costs and move production to the same developing countries, which 1) accelerated their development and competencies and 2) increased the effective demand of the population.... As a result, progress and all that. Well, the seizure of raw materials, oil and so on in the same spirit.
And then, over the last 10 years, strange things began to happen:
1. Developed countries have realized that the middle class is becoming poor and the gap is growing. It is better to have high prices and a solvent population than low prices, an impoverished middle class and a dead proletariat. It turned out that in the medium term, the withdrawal of production from the country is a time bomb. Why do we need cheap Chinese goods, smart Chinese engineers and workers, and at the same time, the dumbing down American population on welfare, because they are unable to find work in the closed factories of Detroit?
2. The second revolution of robots showed that it turns out that you can have production at home, but at the same time save on salary even more than using Chinese workers. But that's not all.
3. The development of algorithms, software, the development of the Internet of things, a completely different level of production and process management has shown that it is possible to lay off not only workers, but also many professions that are involved in servicing processes without a creative component - accountants, lawyers, traders, drivers, dispatchers, and There is also a list of more than 500 professions that are at risk for 10 years.
4. It suddenly became clear that importing already trained or even low-skilled labor migrants into the country is more profitable than moving production to developing countries. It’s all very simple - a labor migrant has such a specific immigration status that if something goes wrong, he’s screwed, and there are still legions breathing down his neck to replace him. And you can pay such people less, give less social benefits and save. And it turns out that such migrants make up a significant part of the labor force in many industries - from high-tech to agriculture, which in the United States, for example, is almost exclusively made up of illegal immigrants from Mexico. Illegal immigrants are very beneficial for the economy - costs are minimal, and they fill the need for all unskilled positions - agricultural workers, retail, logistics, salespeople, nurses and a host of others.
5. Global finance, Internet, logistics and communications, transport, demand for labor resources in developed countries SUDDENLY created a situation where moving to a developed country, going through naturalization and all the difficulties turned out to be MORE PROSPECTIVE than trying to wait for improvements in their national economies. Well, 5-7 years and a person becomes a citizen, gaining access to all social services. package, education, not to mention automatic status for children. And then the parents move, which is what we see here in the USA with the example of the Chinese, Indians and everyone else.
6. There are several more important technological factors that we simply don’t have time to write about.
What am I talking about?
Moreover, about 10-15 years ago, suddenly, many countries that BEFORE belonged to the DEVELOPING category imperceptibly moved into the DEGRADING category or at risk. Why is that? Because it turned out that ALL factors of their development were EXTERNAL and were consequences of globalization, but as soon as these factors and their MOTIVATORS ceased to play a significant role, DEVELOPMENT stopped. Those. life goes on, everything works. ONE question remains - what do these countries have to offer the rest of the world?
1. Technologies and developments? No!
2. Smart and qualified people? No, because they don’t exist, and those who exist have left or will leave in the near future.
3. Resources? Yes, if there is and if the demand for them does not fall, like for oil.
4. Products and goods? If they are comparable in quality, and in the absence of technology, these are only agricultural products at dumping prices, which does not provide a resource for development.
Those. there is a possibility that 80-85% of countries DO NOT HAVE THE PREREQUISITES to get out of the Malthusian trap. At the same time, perhaps 30-70 countries that are accustomed to living off oil and resources suddenly moved into the risk zone. And sometimes the list of these countries includes those that at first glance look powerful and prosperous.
And here we come to the main question - what should such countries do? What should we invest our already meager funds in so as not to fall into a catastrophe of degradation? Which direction has the maximum investment potential? Is it when you can invest less money and get more results faster? And take into account modern trends? What is this?
Mineral exploration?
Deploying production of something?
Agriculture?
Education and R&D?
Specific services (such as uranium repositories)?
My point of view is that all the same is the education of the population and the creation of a powerful innovation infrastructure, i.e. transforming the country into a competitive R&D and educational cluster. I believe it is:
1. Cheaper (relatively)...
2. Faster...
3. Definitely more promising....
India, China, Israel, and Singapore have already shown that it is possible to move along this path successfully.
The horizon is approximately 15 years... Yes, as a reminder, this strategy is minimally intended to prevent a hard landing. I think that the maximum potential here is in Africa and Asia, Oceania, Latin America, and then the Near and Middle East.... This is due to the climate and, accordingly, extremely low costs for creating infrastructure....
Oh, I forgot to mention, I assume that within 10 years, 90% of the educational and R&D infrastructure will switch to the format of virtual coworkings and offices. Those. we will receive the benefits of joint communications as in live communication with full telepresence, but with minimal need for travel.
Yes, well, when in the same 10 years 3D printers become technologically advanced and comparable in cost and productivity to mass production, this will greatly change the production landscape. But consumables can also be produced locally. The object of logistics will be the specifications according to which printers and automatic assemblers create various objects.
“You have to run as fast as you can just to stay in place, and to get somewhere, you have to run at least twice as fast!” (L. Carroll).
A quote from a children's book with great meaning! It is explained simply: time passes quickly, everything around changes and develops at tremendous speed. To be at your best, you need to keep up with the times, but move forward, ahead of time!
Almost all adults perform normal life activities and get tired. Work, everyday life and communication take a lot of time, and it creates a feeling of being completely “exhausted”. Even those who don't work can be busy and tired! For example, housewives. They get things done, perform certain tasks, but there is usually little movement towards self-development.
This happens because anyone can find something to keep themselves busy. But, in addition to the usual things, we need to move forward if you want to develop!
To do this, you need to distribute your time so that you are not just “afloat”, but go forward along the desired route!
Therefore, it is worth incorporating optimization, goal setting and delegation into your life in order to choose activities that will lead to what you want. You need to determine your desires, plan your affairs, and, if possible, delegate (transfer) part of your affairs to those who can handle them and relieve you of your workload.
It is also worth giving up things that take up your time but do not benefit your success (watching TV, monitoring social networks, useless conversations, etc.).
If you are not currently working (housewife, student) and are not engaged in self-development, then you need to move forward. Time passes, therefore, it is worth not forgetting about your role in the family or study, develop, set goals and achieve them.
If you work for someone, then you are developing someone else's business. Even if you improve your qualifications, at the moment you are making a contribution to someone else’s business. Therefore, it is worth thinking about how to work for your self-development.
Everything that surrounds you is someone's business. Ivan Novinsky.
If you work for yourself, developing your business, then it is worth analyzing what methods you use for development. You need to choose progressive tools for business development, otherwise you will continue to advance in the middle segment, compared to those who keep up with the times. By choosing something new, you will be among the leaders, those who go towards the goal, tracking new opportunities. To do this, you need to watch how more advanced businessmen develop their business.
Questions are often asked about the difference in achieving goals in men's and women's businesses. Both men and women need to achieve goals, but the ways to achieve them are different. Men “take the top” more sharply and assertively, women more smoothly and gradually. But high goals should be set for both! As a rule, women choose niches in business that are more suitable for feminine energy and softer ways of development.
Good luck and creative achievements!
1. You need to run as fast as you can just to stay in place, and to get somewhere, you need to run at least twice as fast!
2. Everything has its own morality, you just need to be able to find it!
3. - You cannot believe in the impossible!
“You just don’t have enough experience,” the Queen remarked. “When I was your age, I devoted half an hour to this every day!” On some days, I managed to believe in a dozen impossibilities before breakfast!
4. You know, one of the most serious losses in battle is losing your head.
5. Tomorrow never happens today! Is it possible to wake up in the morning and say: “Well, it’s finally tomorrow”?
6. Few people find a way out, some don’t see it even if they find it, and many don’t even look for it.
7. - Taking anything seriously in this world is a fatal mistake.
- Is life serious?
- Oh yes, life is serious! But not very...
8. I have seen such nonsense, in comparison with which this nonsense is an explanatory dictionary!
9. The best way to explain is to do it yourself.
10. If every person minded his own business, the Earth would spin faster.
11. - Where can I find someone normal?
“Nowhere,” answered the Cat, “there are no normal people.” After all, everyone is so different and dissimilar. And this, in my opinion, is normal.
12. Just think that because of some thing you can become so small that you become nothing.
13. No matter how she tried, she could not find a shadow of meaning here, although all the words were completely clear to her.
14. If your head is empty, alas, the greatest sense of humor will not save you.
15. - What do you want?
- I want to kill time.
- Time really doesn’t like being killed.
16. She always gave herself good advice, although she did not follow it often.
17. “Don’t be sad,” said Alice. - Sooner or later everything will become clear, everything will fall into place and line up in a single beautiful pattern, like lace. It will become clear why everything was needed, because everything will be right.
18. - What are those sounds over there? - Alice asked, nodding at the very secluded thickets of some pretty vegetation at the edge of the garden.
“And these are miracles,” explained the Cheshire Cat indifferently.
- And.. And what are they doing there? – the girl asked, inevitably blushing.
“As it should be,” the cat yawned. - They happen...
19. If this were so, it would be nothing. If, of course, it were so. But since this is not so, it is not so. This is the logic of things.
20. Whatever is said three times becomes true.
21. Never consider yourself to be different from what others do not consider you to be, and then others will not consider you to be different from what you would like to appear to them.
22. Ten nights are ten times warmer than one. And ten times colder.
23. - Tell me, please, where should I go from here?
-Where do you want to go? - answered the Cat.
“I don’t care...” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter where you go,” said the Cat.
24. The plan, needless to say, was excellent: simple and clear, it couldn’t have been better. It had only one drawback: it was completely unknown how to carry it out.
25. If everything in the world is meaningless, said Alice, what prevents you from inventing some meaning?
(c) Lewis Carroll
What should I start with...?
We are all slaves to our habits, not even like that, we are programmed. We ourselves set certain algorithms of behavior, or we receive them from the outside, succumbing to the influence of other people’s programs, and in the future we sometimes stupidly follow the program despite the changed circumstances...
Unfortunately, this harmful property of the body manifests itself in a variety of areas of activity.
For example, money, have you ever noticed how difficult it is for you to cut expenses? Let’s say you received $300 a month (figures taken out of thin air), with this money you paid utility bills, internet, bought food and, based on the remaining funds, rested. And in some way you started to earn more, for example $600. What will costs immediately increase? I’m almost sure that you will answer - entertainment, no at first, of course you will buy new clothes, cosmetics, a mouse pad for your favorite mouse, a dog collar, etc., but in the end the remaining funds will go towards some way to entertain your mortal body =)
And suddenly, for some reason your income drops to $450, what should you do? A reasonable option is to reduce expenses on entertainment and try to choose cheaper food products. What are we doing? But nothing, that is. I personally can’t quickly cut costs, I used to it
that it is affordable and ordinary, and I don’t want to transfer anything into the category of luxury! As a result, when things really get tough, you have to cut all expenses, this naturally entails some kind of stressful crap, although you could get by with “cognac instead of Jack Daniels” and endure all the above events less painfully.
And if you consider that we live in a period of constant rising prices, and money is constantly becoming cheaper, even if its quantity does not change, then it becomes quite sad.
But the thoughts that beer used to taste better, the girls were more beautiful, and the computer with the computing power of my (rather ancient) smartphone occupied 2-3 rooms, will be left to older people and USSR fanatics. Our business is young, so we want to understand the processes. What kind of invisible force is this that makes me, like Photoshop, act according to a once written “script”.
As far as I understand, adaptation algorithms play a role here: “If the structure of the system ensures its normal functioning in given environmental conditions, then such a system should be considered adapted to these conditions. At this stage, a dynamic equilibrium is established, in which a change in physiological indicators occurs within normal limits. " (c) http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adaptation_(biology), further from the same place: "At the same time, according to Yu. Malov, health or normality is a relatively stable state, but it cannot be maintained for throughout life, because in nature there are no individuals absolutely adapted to a given environment. A long stay in the same conditions will sooner or later lead to the development of some kind of disease, which is a mechanism for the elimination of the individual "i.e. I repeat in my own words: if you have reached optimal living conditions and they do not change for a long enough time, then the body starts a self-destruction mechanism. You are not improving and are useless for evolution, which means there is no point in wasting resources on maintaining your life. (who should spend it and why is this a separate question and I don’t want to talk about it, Google to help...)
All of the above is quite logical and functional, but what prevents us from as easily abandoning ineffective actions in the same way as nature does from ineffective individuals? Moreover, we deliberately fill our heads with programs that no longer work (traditions, signs, etc.) at a time when we need to work hard on ourselves in order to somehow correspond to the times.
I see almost no reason why one cannot give up unnecessary habits and traditions, and those that exist are purely psychological in nature, requiring an insane level of self-control and a special attitude towards life and the events in it.
And the most difficult and unpleasant thing is to explain to close people who were brought up according to certain beliefs that weddings are a set of meaningless rituals, that taking out the garbage at night is dangerous only if you run into the company of a drunken redneck (well, what does the garbage have to do with it? ?) and so on. And it’s even more difficult to explain to yourself the meaninglessness of your own actions...
But it doesn’t work out, some event always happens that prevents you from doing your main activity, and the event is necessarily “well, very important” and such an event occurs every week... . It is distracting, as sad as it may be, everything that we are accustomed to consider good, holidays, relatives, a loved one, friends, you cannot refuse these people (if you refuse often, they cease to be close, no matter how you look at it) and what to do, sweep away everything “unnecessary” ? So you won’t be alone for long, and then you’ll get bored, and then everything will start all over again... A dead-end option. Or “increase capacity” by increasing at least the number of actions (useful), if possible, performing useless, but so important for the environment little things. And in this turmoil try not to wash away stress with rivers of C2H5OH, i.e. its solutions =)
. “You have to run as fast as you can just to stay in place, and to get somewhere you have to run at least twice as fast!” (c) Lewis Carroll. And he's damn right!!!
I know that the conversation is not over here, and the problem is not resolved, so I would like to hear your opinions on the above reasoning. Good luck in this crazy race called life =)
Phrases from childhood, the meaning of which we understand only as we grow up...
You have to run as fast as you can just to stay in place, and to get somewhere you have to run at least twice as fast!
Everything has its own morality, you just need to be able to find it!
Never think that you are different from what you could be otherwise than by being different in those cases where it is impossible not to be otherwise.
You can't believe the impossible!
“You just don’t have enough experience,” the Queen noted. “When I was your age, I devoted half an hour to this every day!” On some days, I managed to believe in a dozen impossibilities before breakfast!
You know, one of the biggest losses in battle is losing your head.
