Paper crafts are perhaps the most interesting hobby for children and adults. The manufacturing process is quite fascinating, besides, at the same time, children develop imagination, motor skills. Below we have selected a few workshops that, in our opinion, will be of interest to you.
paper butterfly
Butterfly is a bright companion of summer, a symbol of beauty and lightness. Each butterfly is unique and inimitable in its own way. Nature tried to mark each winged beauty with bright colors and patterns. These beautiful insects are the decoration of flower lawns, and in today's lesson we will try to decorate the room with a butterfly, which we will make with our own hands from paper. Making paper crafts favors the development of attentiveness, accuracy, perseverance and the manifestation of imagination in children. And what a surprise the baby will experience, watching how an ordinary leaf turns into an amazing creature before his eyes!
In order to make a paper butterfly, we need:
- Paper;
- Scissors;
- Paints;
- Fantasy and great mood.
For crafts, an ordinary album sheet will do, but first it needs to be made square. To do this, we bend the upper left corner diagonally, cut off the section of paper remaining during the fold with scissors. We have a square with one diagonal fold. It is necessary to make another diagonal fold on the other side. To do this, bend the upper right and lower left corners.
At the resulting triangle, bend up the lower ends. Then we turn the figure over with the wide side up and bend the top of the triangle so that its tip extends slightly beyond the edges.
We wrap the protruding end. We fold the future butterfly a little in half.
The butterfly figurine is ready, but for now it is white and inconspicuous. Therefore, the turn has come for the children - to show imagination and decorate the butterfly to your taste, using watercolors or felt-tip pens. Drawing can be the most unimaginable: from flowers, as in our example, to complex geometric patterns, the main thing is that the child enjoys the creative process. If desired, you can make a few more butterflies, allowing the baby to make crafts without your help.
colored paper boat
Of course, each of us loves when he succeeds. And especially, it is made by hand. And you do it just for yourself, for the soul, without even thinking about the specific benefit. Although she still will. Crafts are a great way to show yourself that this business is interesting and brings a lot of benefits. Especially when there are no costs and it turns out to make something beautiful from improvised materials. And for children it is a great joy to do it on their own, albeit not an interesting trinket for an adult, but to do it. And the task of every parent is to support their child, to praise him for what he himself was able to create. And also to help, prompt and in no case scold if the plan does not work out. Doing such work, the child tries to know the world himself, with the help of his imagination. He remembers everything he has ever seen and tries to reflect it in his products. For lovers of the marine theme, we have prepared a lesson on making a simple boat. Feel like a real captain of the most beautiful ship, and even made with soul and love. All we need is:
- empty matchboxes;
- colored cardboard and colored paper;
- scissors;
- glue;
- tubule.
Let's take matchboxes and fold them so that two lie side by side, and the third one is on top of them. In order to give the boat the desired appearance and the advertising inscriptions of the boxes did not spoil the future product, paste over the craft with plain paper, as shown in the picture.
After that, we will make the stern of our ship. Cut out the base from cardboard, and build the bow of our ship from two stripes. Then, we will use a tube to build sails. Take a rectangular piece of cardboard and fasten it to the tube as shown below. We complete the image with small red flags at the end of the tube.
It remains to decorate the craft on the side so that the matchboxes would not be visible. If you have small Lego toys, then they can take their place on our beautiful deck with dignity.
Our boat is ready, it's time to hit the road!
Russian paper stove
The stove was the main attribute in the house: it heated the house, cooked food in it, and was assigned a special place. Therefore, the stove is always associated with satiety, warmth and comfort. In many Russian fairy tales, we come across a Russian stove. Let's remember Emelya, the fairy tale "Geese-Swans", Baba Yaga. There is a stove in ancient proverbs and sayings. And if the child was asked to make a product - a Russian stove, then this is not a problem at all. A real brick stove is being built, and we propose to create it from cardboard. This is easy for a child to handle. A small Russian paper oven turns out to be very realistic.
To make it work, you need to take:
- a small package left over from toothpaste;
- colored paper (white, orange and black);
- a little cotton;
- black marker;
- scissors;
- glue.
1. To begin with, let's cut the toothpaste package into two halves, make one more, the other smaller.
2. The one that is larger will stand vertically, we will apply the smaller half to the larger one horizontally.
3. Fasten the design of the craft with glue.
4. After it dries a little, glue it with white paper, imitating whitewashing.
5. We prepare a pipe for the stove, for this we cut out a strip from cardboard, bend it to make a small pipe, glue it to the base.
6. You need to cut out a small rectangular sheet of white paper. Prepare a firebox from black paper, an orange stripe will frame the firebox.
7. Gently glue it all onto a white sheet. We are waiting for the glue to dry.
8. Glue to the oven in the appropriate place. Now we have a furnace with a firebox!
9. The pipe must be pasted over with orange paper.
10. For naturalness, draw small bricks on the pipe with a black marker and insert a small piece of cotton wool into the pipe, straighten it, depicting smoke. For strength, so as not to fall out, it is better to glue the cotton wool on the inside of the pipe.
Here is such a Russian oven made of paper! I already want to warm my sides on it and remember my childhood, the village, my grandmother. Plus paper ovens - it is small, light and does not take up half the house, but gives a touch of comfort and warmth.
Chicken from disk and paper
How nice it is to receive gifts made by our close and dear people. Especially to make them yourself, including imagination and creativity. With our own hands, from improvised means, we can prepare a wide variety of crafts and toys. This is a very exciting activity. And if you make crafts with your family members or friends, then you will definitely get a lot of pleasure from communication and the result of joint work. Today we will try to make a chicken out of a disk and colored cardboard. It will not be voluminous, and therefore it can be hung over the table or even on the Christmas tree in the New Year. Let's start!
For our toy we will need:
1. Old music or video disc,
- colored cardboard, we will need four colors - blue, white, yellow, red;
- scissors;
- pencil;
- glue;
- a small skein of yellow or beige woolen threads.
2. The first thing we start with is to cut the threads finely, but more. They will replace our chick's feathers.
3. Then, we coat the disk well with glue and sprinkle it thickly with threads. After the disk dries, shake it to remove the remaining hairs.
4. Cut out oval eyes from cardboard paper - they will be white and blue. Beak and paws - let them be red. Let's make the wings yellow. Oh, and don't forget the scallop. Our chicken, although small, already has a scallop. You can see each step in the photo.
Job done, our chicken is ready. You can hang it on a string, as we said earlier. Ask dad to make a hole in the disk, pull the thread and that's it. The craft turned out unusual, joyful. The chick seems to take off, wants to see what is happening up there! Or maybe he wants to see - where are his friends?
Like this craft, we can make a mother chicken or a father rooster. And if you dream up, then a bunny, and a pig, and a hedgehog, and a bear cub, and other cartoon characters, for example. Moreover, we did not spend much time and money on this lesson. It remains only to find a place for her. Or maybe we will give our chick to someone?
paper ball
The creative process of creating various paper crafts and designs will captivate both adults and children. After reading the instructions below, anyone can assemble a figure in the form of a beautiful paper multi-colored ball.
Colored paper (two colors that can contrast with each other, but without disturbing the harmonious combination, for example, blue and purple).
Quantity: for each of the eight modules (circles) that make up the final figure of the craft, five parts are needed (if the ball is planned to be made not large, 2-3 such parts can be cut out of one sheet of colored paper about the size of A4).
- 24 pieces of blue and 16 pieces - purple or equally - twenty pieces of each color;
- Pencil;
- Ruler (in order to draw the sides of the cardboard template);
- A piece of cardboard (its size will depend on how large a figure of a wonderful paper ball is needed;
- A beautiful rope (not thick - with its help, a finished three-dimensional figure can be attached to almost any place in the interior to decorate it);
- Scissors (preferably with sharp tips, especially if the figure is small, otherwise it will be difficult to cut).
At the first stage of the creative process, you need to draw a sketch on cardboard with a pencil, according to which all the details for the ball figure will soon be cut out. It should be noted that the side parts of the depicted figure should be straight (use a ruler for accuracy), and the top and bottom should also be completely the same.
Both parts of the patterned figure look like a chef's hat or a cake with cream, but the main thing is that the edges of the upper and lower parts, respectively, should form convenient “ears” for subsequent coupling into a three-dimensional figure. After completing the sketch, the pencil must be put aside, now it's time to carefully cut the template figure out of cardboard along the contour.
It is necessary to take colored paper and draw the required number of figures and cut them out.
Next, you need to link the cut out figures so that they alternate in color, with each subsequent figure turning about ninety degrees from the previous one so that with its narrow side it can be inserted into the grooves of the long side of the previous part. Thus, five such details must be linked in one circle.
If two purple and three blue parts were used to construct the circle, now you need to link the two purple parts together (provided that the order of precedence was observed).
All modules are connected so that in each recess there are five "curves", that is, the places where the parts are connected.
Postcard for mom
The most memorable and expensive gift is a handmade gift. The original postcard will be a great gift for mom, grandmother or sister, because in addition to a handmade postcard, you give a part of your soul, according to the belief of many peoples, we put a piece of our soul into every thing we create. And this is the most valuable!
And so let's start, for crafts we need the following materials:
- Glue, preferably paper;
- colored paper;
- Scissors;
- Marker;
- Unnecessary magazines with beautiful pictures.
We make a postcard blank from cardboard, draw a pattern in the form of semicircles along the edges of our postcard. You can come up with a different ornament, show your imagination.
Carefully cut out our blank along the lines.
On our blank, we glue a sheet of colored paper, distribute the glue carefully so that the colored paper is well bonded to the cardboard.
It is necessary to make preparations of daisies. We cut out two small circles from white cardboard - these will be the petals of our future chamomile, and from yellow cardboard we need to cut two circles of a smaller diameter for the middle of our flower.
We collect our daisies, glue the yellow center of the chamomile to our white petals. Thus, we collect four flowers.
Now for our daisies, we need to make stems. We will do them as follows: on a sheet of cardboard, green, we draw lines at a distance of 2-4 centimeters, we have three daisies, so we need to draw three lines.
We cut out our stripes exactly along the contour. Stems for our daisies are ready.
Then the fun begins, the assembly and design of the postcard. We glue the daisies and stems we made earlier to our cardboard blank, we place the flowers a little at an angle so that they fit on our postcard.
We cut out beautiful pictures from old magazines to decorate crafts. On the corners of the postcard we glue the ornament found in the magazine. And in the right edge we will plant a beautiful butterfly.
Now the most crucial moment, we make an inscription with wishes for a loved one. From colored pink paper, cut out a blank in the shape of a "cloud". On it we make the inscription "Mommy" and glue it on our postcard.
The original postcard is ready, it remains only to present it.
Origami paper pencil
Origami is a fascinating technique that can interest all family members. It's amazing how from one flat sheet of paper at the next fold, without glue, scissors, or anything else, a familiar object suddenly appears.
You will need a little perseverance and accuracy, and you will definitely be able to create a voluminous paper craft, for example, a pencil.
Necessary materials:
- Color double-sided square sheet
We used yellow and green so that it is clearly visible that this is a pencil. And you can also make the first option so as not to get confused in the description, and then, when you learn how to do it, you can use any colors. Or use one-sided colored paper, then the pencil back and lead will be colored, and the core will be a contrasting white color.
Lay the sheet on the table with the yellow side up. We apply the right corners of the sheet to the left, and making sure that the line is even, we make a fold. Without changing the position of the sheet, unfold it again with the yellow side up.
In the same way, carefully apply the two upper corners to the lower corners and bend the sheet in half, carefully forming a fold line.
Turn the sheet yellow side up again. Now our square is divided into four equal squares by perpendicular fold lines.
Again we take the square by the upper corners and bend our upper small squares in half. Pull the top corners to the center fold strip on the square. Again we straighten the full square with the yellow side up. And again we bend the upper corners, so that the green color does not even reach the very top fold strip. We get a yellow square with a thin green stripe on top, as in the figure below.
Let's pay attention to one fold that runs vertically in the center of the leaf. We take the sheet by the squares on the left and bend to this center. Repeat these steps for the right corners. Now we have a green rectangle with two horizontal fold lines in front of us.
We take the upper inner corners (which are at the vertical fold) and bend them to the edges. Pieces of yellow should appear with green stripes around the edges. As shown in the figure below, we bend these strips to the sides as far as the paper will allow.
Now we bend alternately the right and left upper squares diagonally back. The pencil is ready.
Such pencils can be used in many different ways: as a bookmark, as a decorative element in the design of a school office, as a children's toy, etc.
Christmas tree made of paper
The main attribute of the New Year is the Christmas tree. To dress up an artificial or live forest beauty, everyone decides for himself. But in addition to the main Christmas tree, you can make a few small ones with your own hands. With the help of such crafts, we can decorate the rooms or present it as a small souvenir that will surely cheer up the festive mood.
Required inventory:
- colored paper;
- glue;
- wire;
- stand;
- pencil;
- ruler;
- scissors;
- compass;
- beads for decoration.
Twist one end of the wire into a spiral and attach it with glue to a small, stable log.
Using a compass, draw circles on the back of the colored paper. The diameter of the largest should be 20 cm, and the smallest - 6 cm. Reduce the size of the circles in 2 cm increments. In total, you should get 16 circles, plus one circle, the diameter of which will be 5 cm. You will need it in order to make the top in the form of a cone .
Each of the blanks must be divided into segments. And inside draw a circle, the diameter of which will be on average equal to the radius of the workpiece. The centers of the circles must match. With scissors, make notches that reach the beginning of the inner circle.
Grasp the edges of the segment and roll it into a tube, while securing the ends with glue. Hold each sector with your fingers until the glue sets. We do the same with each section. In the center of each workpiece, make a hole for stringing on a metal frame. Collect the Christmas tree, starting from the largest diameter to the smallest.
Cut a segment from the remaining circle and fold it into a cone, securing the edges with glue. Set the cone on top of the Christmas tree. Now it's time for the most creative part of the process - decorating the Christmas tree. This procedure is very popular with children, so you can safely involve the children in this activity.
As a decor, use bright beads, beads, tinsel, rhinestones and other colorful elements. You can fix them with glue, silicone glue is just right for this procedure, it seizes as quickly as possible and has a transparent texture, which makes it completely invisible.
Christmas paper garland
New Year is a bright and long-awaited holiday for all children and for many adults. The smell of pine needles hovering in the room, gifts under the fir tree and a decorated house. A large number of people buys Christmas decorations, because it is faster and easier, but you can show Creative skills and decorate your home with your own hands. For example, make a Christmas garland out of paper. Many people remember garlands and flags from childhood, they are light, comfortable, it is not difficult to make them yourself and it is convenient to store them after the holidays. A cheerful colorful garland will help decorate a simple gloomy wall, a long curtain and an ordinary chandelier.
1. What we need to make paper garlands:
- colored paper;
- scissors;
- compass;
- glue;
- rope.
2. On the reverse side of colored paper, draw neat circles of different sizes with a compass. Some circles will be larger, others smaller.
3. Using scissors, cut out the resulting multi-colored circles.
4. We combine several circles of the same shape, but different colors. They need to be laid out on top of each other and bent in the middle. It turns out one large and dense circle.
5. Now let's prepare a circle of the largest shape.
6. Gently make three small holes in it with scissors. We make sure that the circles do not move.
7. We thread the rope into the resulting holes.
8. We have the base of the garland ready.
10. String circles on a rope in descending order from larger to smaller.
11. Fluff up the garland so that all the colors of the paper can be seen and it seems more voluminous.
12. We stretch the balls along the rope evenly, at the same distance from each other.
13. You can also decorate the garland with paints - put bright dots in the form of multi-colored scattered confetti. It is better to do this on large circles, because on small ones it may not be noticeable.
14. We ended up with a fun, fluffy and colorful garland. Now you can hang it on the wall at home and admire it all the New Year holidays!
Volumetric paper snowflake
Outside the window - a sorceress-winter, the New Year is approaching, the favorite holiday of the children. Everyone, especially children, lives in anticipation of a miracle, and it is in your power to give it to them. It's simple - you need to pay more attention to them, spend time together, do pre-holiday chores together. Children will love doing festive New Year's decor with their parents, one of the integral elements of which is snowflakes. Everyone knows how to cut them, but for children who definitely want to participate, it will be more interesting to make voluminous snowflakes with which it is appropriate to decorate a Christmas tree, or make a mobile out of them by adding different figures (Christmas trees, balls, angels, etc.) or combine them into a garland. The craft is simple in execution, it is quite possible for a child of 4-5 years old to make it.
For work you will need: a sheet of double-sided blue paper (the shade can be any), a ruler, scissors, glue. Colored paper should be cut in half. Then each half must be folded with an accordion: we put a ruler on the edge of the sheet and make a fold - this is the first strip, we equalize the rest along it (an accordion of 7 strips 3 cm wide should be obtained). We cut the accordions and get 14 strips. From each strip we form a "needle": as shown in the photo.
We cut off the protruding ends of the strips. Get a cone with a sharp ledge. For the base, cut out a circle of paper with a diameter of 3 cm.
We glue the "needles" on the base with a cone to the center, as shown in the photo. First, on the one hand, then, when the glue dries, on the other, making sure that the "needles" are placed in a checkerboard pattern. You should get a snowflake with a diameter of about fourteen centimeters.
Let your imagination run wild: use white paper or paper of two different shades, additionally decorating the snowflake with sparkles, sequins, etc. If you want a bigger snowflake, take two landscape sheets, doubling the width of the strips.
Do New Year's crafts with your children, give them and yourself the joy of communication, and then this New Year will become truly unforgettable for you and for them.
paper crown
The carnival costume of a little prince or a capricious princess is unthinkable without an elegant shiny crown. A headdress appropriate for a young crowned lady can be bought in a toy store, but if it’s evening outside, and the crown is needed for tomorrow’s matinee, then there is nothing left but to build it yourself.
To make such a homemade attribute of royal power, you will need:
- a roll of thick food foil;
- a sheet of thin and dense white cardboard;
- adhesive thermal gun;
- scissors;
- several packages of glue rhinestones of different colors;
- half a meter of narrow metallic silver braid;
- half a meter of white linen go hat gum;
- ruler and a simple pencil.
Crown making
1. On a sheet of cardboard, draw a rectangle 25x12 cm and with a line parallel to the long edges, divide it into two strips measuring 25x7 and 25x5 cm.
2. Divide the narrow strip into five squares with 5 centimeter sides and enter into these squares isosceles triangles with a height and base equal to 5 centimeters. These will be the teeth of the crown.
3. To one of the side short sides of the larger strip, add a fastening tongue 1.5 cm wide.
4. Cut out a piece of cardboard crown and wrap it in foil.
5. To do this, first, with allowances of 1-1.5 cm, cut out the “metal” lining of the outer part of the royal headdress, attach it to the cardboard and bend the excess foil onto the wrong side of the crown.
6. Then cut out the lining of the inside (its dimensions should be slightly smaller than the dimensions of the cardboard base).
7. Place the wrong side of the foil lining on the glue and lock the crown into a ring.
8. Stepping back from the lower edge of the crown 1 cm, stick a silver braid edging on it and decorate it with “crystal” rhinestones.
9. Decorate each prong of our craft with a “flower” assembled from multi-colored rhinestones and “pearl” half beads.
10. From an elastic band, make (glue, and even better - sew) a ring of such a size that it is quite tight, but not tight, put on the child's head (in the position through the top of the head and under the chin).
11. Glue the crown to the rubber ring and try on the finished headdress on the head of "their highnesses."

Paper is a versatile raw material that is used in a wide variety of areas of human life. In the work of many people take this material as a basis. It will be very interesting for both adults and children to find out what crafts can be made from paper.
Original paper products
It’s not at all difficult to make beautiful paper crafts at home. A fair amount of various figures require the presence of drawn schemes according to which the product is assembled. Armed with a pencil and a ruler, anyone can create a craft according to the template. One has only to draw a diagram, and you can easily create pieces of furniture or gift boxes, for example.
Each interesting idea has instructions on how to make a craft. It is important to note that the dotted lines of the diagram are fold lines.
Photos of paper crafts, as well as detailed instructions and descriptions of the necessary materials and tools can be found on the net. In our article, we offer some options for crafts of different levels of complexity.
For the little ones
From a very young age, children begin to show interest in paper. We offer parents and children to make a bright and beautiful bird. Your baby can play with it or decorate the room with it.
Before you start working, you should prepare. You will need a bird template, cardboard, thin paper (square) and colored pencils or felt-tip pens. According to this template, you cut out a bird. Then draw the beak, feathers and tail.
Wings are made from a thin square sheet of paper. To do this, it is required to fold it with an accordion, and then fix it in the bird's body in a hole previously prepared.
It is important to remember that the cutting process must take place under the strict supervision of an adult. And do not forget to explain to the baby that after work all the tools should be put in their places.
Decorate the bird by sticking ribbons, sparkles or rhinestones on it.
Volumetric paintings
All paper crafts can be simple and complex. Application is considered one of the simplest techniques for making paper crafts. This type of creativity is studied by children in the early stages of education.
Work algorithm
- Fold the napkin 4 times and staple in the middle. Cut corners to make a circle.
- Form a flower by breaking apart the layers of the circle.
- Cut out some green leaves.
- Cut out the basket.
- Glue all the details on a sheet of cardboard.
Please note that corrugated paper or foil can be used to make a basket.
Torn paper appliqué
Another way to apply without using scissors is to work with confetti or torn paper.
To work, you must have:
- glue;
- torn paper (or confetti) of different colors;
- cardboard for the base;
- pencil.
Work algorithm:
- We put the image on the cardboard.
- Spread alternately the details of the image with glue.
- On top of the glue we put pieces of paper or confetti.
If desired, the picture can be decorated with a frame made of any other materials, or inserted into a frame for a photograph. Attach a loop on the back, and you can hang such a children's masterpiece on the wall.
Weaving
There is a huge variety of ways to learn how to make paper crafts using the weaving technique. This is a very original approach to creating an exclusive work.
The simplest in this technique is weaving from stripes in a checkerboard pattern. For those who are not looking for easy ways, work with paper tubes is suitable.
It is worth considering that the properties of the product will depend on the type of material you choose. You can work with:
- plain paper;
- newspaper;
- tape for cash registers;
- glossy magazines.
Thus, you will get a durable and high-quality product. When the product is woven, you can decorate it as you wish. There are no restrictions here.
Origami
Origami is one of the most difficult paperwork techniques. Next, we offer a master class on paper crafts using this technique. As an example, we will make a chicken.
To work on the product, you will need a square sheet of thin paper and pencils (black and red).
Work execution algorithm:
- Fold the paper diagonally.
- Expand.
- Bend into two equal parts
- Expand the left and right corners of the square.
- Bend these corners into the middle in such a way as to combine them and get a pentagon as a result.
- Bend the top of the cone to the middle.
- Bend the same cone in the opposite direction, but so that a small corner remains outside the sheet, which will become a beak.
- Align the left and right edges of the product, but so that the beak is on the left side.
- Bend the upper right corner into the middle of the product.
- Bend the lower right corner, which consists of two sheets, outward. When making these movements, it is important to combine the lower sides. Also at this time, you need to bring a small corner beyond the leftmost border. Thus, the paws turned out.
- Turn a small corner-tail out to the outside.
- Lower the beak a little.
- Draw eyes with black pencil.
- Color the beak with a red pencil.
The magic of origami surprises and intrigues children. Having mastered the technique yourself, you can teach your child to make new interesting toys.
If you show imagination, then from paper you can do whatever you want. Your craft will be exclusive in the first place because it is handmade. And it depends only on you how people will see it: color or black and white, flat or three-dimensional. In addition, now we have a choice of all kinds of raw materials for creativity and decor.
Photo of paper crafts
In this article, we will explain in detail how to make paper crafts. These are simple and affordable designs even for an inexperienced beginner. Thanks to the explanations given in this article, everyone can learn how to quickly fold original shapes from a sheet of paper.
Folding a paper airplane
This is probably the most popular paper design among children. But this airplane differs from the usual ones in its flight qualities and shape, similar to a predatory fighter. To get a beautiful airplane, you should fold it out of colored paper or make it out of white paper, and then paint the design.
The drawn diagram shows how to fold such an aircraft. It will fly very far if you launch this paper fighter in a slightly upward direction.
So, you need a rectangular piece of paper. And then:
Bend the sheet to the center line, in half;
Wrap the left and right edges at an angle to the center;
Once again we bend the corners on both sides, as the diagram suggests;
Now, the already bent edges should be slightly turned to the outside;
Bend the airplane in the middle and connect the bottom edges;
On a line that is one third of the height of the resulting triangle from the bottom, we bend the edges down and get the wings;
Now we turn out the previously bent edges and straighten the “fender liner”.
The aircraft is ready for launches and games.
Delicate paper lantern
For this design, prepare colored paper, a ruler, scissors, glue and a simple pencil.
Take a piece of colored paper and fold it in half. Now, with a simple pencil, draw lines perpendicular to the fold, which start from the edge of the fold and do not reach the opposite edge for about two centimeters (all lines should be the same). The interval between these lines is a centimeter - one and a half. Now cut along these lines.
Next, unfold the sheet and bend it into a tube along the length of the cuts, with the colored side of the paper outward, glue the edges of the tube. It remains to make a handle for hanging a flashlight - a loop from a strip of the same colored paper, which must be glued to the top of the resulting notched cylinder and the craft is ready.
Let's make a carnation out of paper
You will need: straws for drinks (preferably green), beautiful paper napkins of bright red color and attentiveness.
We cut off a strip about a centimeter wide from the napkin, you will need this ribbon later. Now fold the entire napkin with an accordion and tie with the prepared strip in the center. Turn the napkin over, knotted down, and gently fold the sheets of napkin to the side, forming fluffy carnation petals. Bend the workpiece in half and “fluff” the petals again.
It remains to attach a tube to the “flower” and the paper carnation is ready. If there are only white napkins, then paint their edges and ends with a bright red felt-tip pen. If you do not have a suitable straw, you can take a stiff wire and wrap it with green floral tape.
How to make a star out of paper
This paper star is a beautiful, easy to make and cute craft. To make it, you will need several paper squares with a side length of ten centimeters.
We bend the upper part of the rhombus - the triangle slightly to the side so that its edge runs exactly along the edge of the lower one, wrapped towards the middle of the triangle. In this way, both sides are bent in turn to make fold stripes;
Turn your design over and bend it along the fold lines formed in the previous paragraph;
As a result, you should get a figure of two nested triangles, so that the internal corners remain inside;
Such blanks will require at least four;
Connect these figures by tucking one of the triangles of each blank into the "pocket" of the inner triangles of the next;
Move all the shapes to hide the traces of the connection - the paper star is ready.
How to fold a paper clapperboard
For those who are learning how to make paper crafts, such a curious figure as a clapperboard will come in handy. You will need a sheet of paper large and rectangular. The best thing is to carefully pull out a double sheet from the middle of the notebook. Or a sheet of A4 office paper for a printer, even a regular newspaper may do.
Fold a piece of paper in four. When you unfold it, you will see two fold lines of different lengths. Bend all four corners of the sheet to a long fold line, this will look like two roofs of houses;
Now, fold this figure in half along the line of a long fold and you will have a paper trapezoid in your hands;
Bend the corners of the trapezoid at the long side to the middle, you will get a square-shaped figure;
Fold this square in half again so that the folded triangles are inside (they will create cotton);
Your clapperboard is ready to use, grab the sharp end with your fingers and swing the clapperboard down sharply. Cotton will occur when the structure opens sharply, then you can fold the clapperboard and repeat everything again until the paper structure breaks.
Please note that when folding this cracker, it is not recommended to particularly smooth the paper.
paper envelope
The envelopes sold in the store are completely standard and monotonous. Although, if you search, you can buy original envelopes, however, exclusive handmade envelopes are much more valuable. And store envelopes are boring, too bland to be used for special occasions.
- Take a sheet of standard A4 paper and cut a strip from it to make a square, it must be folded diagonally;
- Now fold the sheet so that the folded corner touches the diagonal fold line. Use a ruler and fold exactly one third of the length of the square;
- Also, from the opposite, first fold, side, you need to bend the sheet and also by one third. Make sure the corner goes all the way to the edge;
- Where the left and right third parts of the sheet, which you have already folded back, converge, you need to bend the corner of the sheet to the left and back;
- Next, this corner can be opened, it will be a pocket that secures the edge of the top flap of the envelope that you are making. After a postcard or letter is inserted into the envelope, the edge of the flap will be fixed.
- Now the top of the envelope can already be bent, it goes straight into the pocket prepared for it.
Handmade envelope, it's not easy beautiful craft, but also part of the solid design of your correspondence, postcards or letters.
If the envelope itself is made of white paper, then it can be decorated with stickers or painted with felt-tip pens and pencils. An envelope folded from double-sided colored paper has a special chic. The recipient will be pleasantly surprised. Opening the envelope and discovering that another beautiful color is inside.
As it is now fashionable to say, a 3D ball can be made from velvet paper, cardboard, colored paper, or pastel paper. Whatever you have available or want to buy, then use it. This ball looks great both in color and in white.
It will be easiest to print ready-made templates, you will need 12 blanks of their characteristic rounded pentagons. If you are doing this for the first time, then it will be easier to assemble a large ball - take the appropriate blanks. Cut out twelve pieces and make cuts exactly along the lines.
If you plan to hang the ball, then before assembly, you need to fix the rope on the first part (if the ball is lying somewhere, then this step can be skipped). To do this, stick a piece of adhesive tape on the back of the workpiece and then pierce the hole with a needle, the paper will not tear. Glue the end of the rope and you can start assembling.
The ball itself is assembled quite easily, the slot of each blank is inserted into the previous one, and so on in a circle. Easy to assemble even for a first grader.
Beautiful paper box
The box consists of a lid and a bottom, which are made in turn:
Take a square piece of paper and draw lines along its diagonals.
Bend one of the corners so that its tip is directed to the intersection of the lines, in the center. Fold this side over again. The edge of the fold should be located exactly along the diagonal strip. If you fold this side, there will be folds that will be used later;
Repeat the operation described in point 2 for all corners of the square;
On both sides, along the fold lines, parallel to one of the diagonals, we make two cuts, stopping at the last fold in front of the second diagonal;
We bend the other two sides along the notch lines, wrap the corners and fold the rectangular lid of our future craft.
The bottom of the box is made in the same way as the lid, but a square blank should be taken with a side size three millimeters smaller than the one from which the lid was made. Then the cover will be easy, but tightly dressed on the bottom.
So, the examples above have demonstrated how to make paper crafts. It is not difficult, but interesting and allows you to fold very original little things from plain paper. All materials are readily available, and the original crafts themselves will delight you or your child.
How to make a paper carnation
Each of us has probably already made something out of paper with our own hands, for example, a mouse on a string for a kitten or a flower for mom on March 8th. Now you can go to the Internet and ... wow, how many things! Here are funny animals, and mysterious birds, and fabulous flowers, and unusual snowflakes .... Do not count everything! How to figure it all out and what paper crafts to choose for repetition?
We tried to demonstrate various types of paper crafts and divided them into groups according to their appearance, purpose, manufacturing method and complexity. Moreover, we have made the most attractive and uncomplicated needlework and prepared accessible master classes.
Cut and glue colored appliqués from stripes, circles and torn paper
Before you do anything, you need to get acquainted with what others have already done. Of course, we will follow this path, observing the principle: from simple to complex.
These funny flat applications are quite simple to make: first you need to draw images of individual elements with a pencil on colored paper, then cut them out with scissors and stick them one by one on a regular landscape sheet. To maintain proportions, you must first make the largest fragment of the craft, and then apply it to sheets of a different color to draw other elements.
You can do it differently: first depict the craft entirely on white paper, and then cut out individual parts from it, apply them to a colored sheet and trace with a pencil. The most affordable flat applications can be made by kids from the 2nd to the 4th grade.
These original flat applications are interesting because they are made from paper circles. When repeating, it is only important to observe the proportions of the diameters of individual elements. Let's learn how to make these using the example of a squirrel.
We will need the following materials and tools:
Now we need to prepare the following circles:
We glue the blanks to the base in the following sequence:
- yellow segment of the upper paw;
- brown details, that is, the torso and ears;
- now the second yellow foot, tail and muzzle;
- back paw, eyes and nose;
- It remains to paint on the mouth of the animal with a black marker - and the squirrel is ready!
Amazing crafts are made from pieces of torn paper! To make them, you must first apply the outlines of the drawing with a pencil, and then stick the torn pieces of the desired color.
In this way, you can really get a variety of plots. It is important not only to accurately apply the original drawing, but also to choose the right color of paper and the size of the pieces. In this case, very accessible and effective images are possible.
This short tutorial shows how to make a fall tree craft with falling leaves. It is not at all scary if the tree is not depicted very naturally, and the leaves are glued unevenly. The main thing is that the result is impressive, even if a child takes over.
Charming crafts are made from strips of paper. Many of them can be made without the use of glue, using weaving.
To do this, holes are cut in a single-color application into which multi-colored stripes are inserted. To fix individual elements, it is possible to use a stapler. Slots are made with a clerical knife along a metal ruler, and all work is done on a solid, even base.
As an example, let's make a beautiful fish from stripes. We will need the following materials and tools:
- A4 paper in two colors;
- ruler;
- glue;
- pencil;
- scissors;
- pattern.
We collect the fish in stages:
Fish can be made both two-color and one-color. If you hang fish of various colors with the help of threads, then we will find ourselves in the Red Sea.
Schemes of simple and complex volumetric crafts for beginners and experienced
Of course, spatial forms provide great opportunities for making paper crafts. Children successfully create fun, bright and cool figurines of this type with their own hands.
Again we have strips of colored paper, but now they form spatial figures. Stripes can be glued onto a flat base and complemented by a pattern.
Undoubtedly, voluminous crafts are somewhat more complicated than flat applications, but there are quite simple and successful examples. So, fish scales, plumage of a parrot and a lion's mane are very successfully imitated by this method.
Let's learn how to make applications from stripes using the example of a hedgehog. We will need the following materials and tools:
- yellow and brown paper;
- white A4 paper;
- ruler;
- glue;
- pencil;
- scissors;
- black marker.
The sequence of actions is available to schoolchildren of the age of approximately 2 - 4 grades:
Volumetric figures of animals can be made in various ways. So, an ordinary cone perfectly imitates a fox, and paper cylinders turn into elephants.
It is important to choose the right shapes of the constituent parts, and then masterpieces are obtained: a bright humpbacked bug, fish with funny tails, graceful swans or bunnies with shifted paws.
Let's make a bright fish together. You will need a colored sheet, glue, pencil, black marker and scissors:
A peacock with a chic tail is especially successful! The fact is that paper folded like an accordion holds its shape well in one of the directions, which makes it easier to create spatial figures. Bright fish from the Red Sea, temperamental Spanish dancers and nimble hedgehogs from our forest are made of paper folded like an accordion.
As you can see, the suns, and the mushrooms, and the fox, and the Russian beauties are no less successful using the same method. Let's make a beautiful girl together. You will need A4 cardboard, white, yellow, beige and blue paper, glue, pencil, red and black markers and scissors. It is very good if there are eyes, flowers and beads from a children's set for creativity:
Special parchment or corrugated paper already has a wavy structure, and it does not need to be folded like an accordion. Original children's crafts are made from such material, but flowers are especially good from corrugated paper, which we will demonstrate later.
It is really possible to make wonderful applications from napkins, moreover, torn and wrinkled. Each lump will have to be fixed with glue and you will get a colorful mosaic.
As you can see, literally any plot can be depicted in this way: from bugs and butterflies to a natural landscape. To create a successful picture, you need to correctly draw the contours of the image on a flat sheet, choose the colors well and be ready for painstaking work.
Let's learn how to make applications from napkins using an apple as an example. You will need red napkins, green paper, cardboard, glue, pencil and scissors:
Volumetric paper applications turn into works of art if they are done competently and tastefully. Any of the images presented in the photo can take its rightful place in the house as a picture.
Obviously, we have some pretty cool crafts in front of us, the manufacture of which will require some experience. It is difficult to take your eyes off such work, but the painstaking work will be appreciated by relatives and friends.
Original products and things made of colored paper with practically no glue in various techniques
Paper crafts are widespread in Japanese culture. Accordingly, many of the original techniques for working with colored paper are named in the language of this country.
These paper animals are made using the origami technique. Crafts have original shapes and seem very complex. However, if there is a template, an assembly scheme and a description of such animals, schoolchildren will be able to repeat all this.
These photos show more simple crafts, which students of the 3rd, 4th or 5th grades can do. Most of them can be made without the help of glue.
It is interesting to make a moving origami toy - a frog that can jump. For this we need green paper. This craft is easier to make with the help of the attached video.
The photo shows crafts made from pre-prepared colored paper modules. Products assembled using the modular origami technique amaze the imagination with their texture and shapes.
Modules come in various sizes, and it is really possible to assemble almost everything from them. The individual elements of the craft are fastened together without the use of glue, but it is often used to ensure the necessary strength of the structure.
To try the modular origami technique, let's make a small flower or star. We will need paper of any two colors, we will use yellow and pink colors:
- We need to make modules from sheets of paper, for this we need to divide the A4 colored sheet into 16 identical rectangles.
- Take a rectangle and fold it in half horizontally.
- Next, fold the workpiece in half vertically, and then immediately unbend.
- We fold the upper corners of the part to the vertical bend line.
- Now we need to turn over our workpiece.
- We bend the protruding parts from below.
- Again we bend the parts that look out at the edges.
- We fold the part vertically and get the module.
- For crafts, we need 10 modules for the core, in our case they are pink, and 45 modules for the petals, we have them in yellow.
- We start making a flower from its core. We place two pink modules together.
- We fasten them with the help of another module, into which they must fit tightly.
- We apply another module from the edge to an already existing workpiece.
- We also attach it to another module.
- In the same way, we dock another module on the side and attach it.
- We repeat the previous step, now we have the very first and the very last modules in contact.
- We put another module on the two extreme ones, connecting them.
- Now let's make a petal. To do this, we place two yellow modules next to each other.
- We fasten them with the help of another.
- We attach one module to the left and right to the extreme sash of the modules of the second row.
- In the same way, we attach two more modules on each side. The petal is ready!
- We need 5 of these parts.
- Now you can start connecting the parts. We take the core and put on it the extreme modules of the petal, as shown in the photo.
- We do the same with the rest of the petals and align them.
- This is the kind of flower we have!
Crafts using the Kusudama technique are also assembled from the same type of modules, but in this case they are glued together. The constituent elements can have a wide variety of designs, providing a variety of finished products.
Best of all, using Kusudama technology, multi-colored balls of a fantastic structure are obtained, as well as flowers. Let's learn how to make a kusudama flower ball. You will need orange sheets of paper, glue and scissors:
The photo shows samples of a relatively new technology for making paper crafts called papercraft. (“Paper” is not about dad, but about paper. “Kraft” is power, you can say the same about dad.)
Using the papercraft technique, it is possible to make wonderful three-dimensional animal figurines of a special style. It is likely that it is not easy to develop such a craft, but it is quite possible to cut it according to a template and glue it together.
Let's make a funny dog using this technology. In this case, it is allowed to make a template in two ways: either cut it out of white cardboard and then paint it, or make it from beige cardboard and then stick the parts from colored paper. A combination option is also possible.
The template can be pre-printed or transferred to the cells. Next, the figurine is glued in places that are not painted in the image. While the glue dries, it is better to fix the craft with paper clips and rubber bands.
Another Japanese word - kirigami reminds us of a fairy tale from the national theater of this country. A variety of crafts and plots are possible.
Interesting "open books" in the technique of kirigami with a voluminous plot. Of course, for the manufacture of such crafts, you need some experience.
We will make a fairly simple lawn with green grass and flowers in the style of kirigami. Such a craft can be rolled up like a book and carried away in a backpack, and then unfolded again.
We need the following things: cardboard, colored paper, scissors, ruler, pencil and glue:
Interesting homemade products from newspaper and magazine tubes, kraft paper
When you first see a craft made from newspaper or magazine tubes, you do not immediately understand what they are made of. Meanwhile, such products have good strength and are suitable for practical use in everyday life, so they can be safely used as gifts.
The coloring and color of the paper, its quality and density matter: in one case, a color magazine is suitable, in the other case, a newspaper is used.
Quite often, wrapping or kraft paper is used. Its brown color is perfect for many crafts. In other cases, the wrapping paper is dyed.
Consider the process of making a small owl from newspaper tubes. We need the following things: newspaper, glue, building soil and color, knitting needles with a diameter of 1.5-3mm, scissors and clothespins. For weaving, we need seven tubes 30 cm long - five brown and two green:
It is easy to make a colorful autumn tree from an ordinary gray bag. In addition to the package, you will need glue, scissors, yellow and red paper:
Templates for cool children's toys and cardboard houses
Cardboard provides special opportunities for making crafts for children. From them you can make big toys, using which you can hide in a house, roar in a bulldozer or purr in an airplane. Old cardboard boxes are perfect for this purpose.
A cardboard house is very popular and can be made in a variety of ways, including for a cat. To assemble such structures, a special glue gun or adhesive tape is very convenient to use.
As follows from the photo, both fairly simple children's crafts and designer jewelry are possible from cardboard. Obviously, repeating this yourself is quite realistic.
Let's build a house out of cardboard for children. You will need the following things: a large corrugated box, a clerical knife and adhesive tape:
Cool paper decorations for interior and everyday life
Both professionals and amateurs have developed a considerable number of crafts for interior decoration and useful in everyday life. To do anything really: we look together and evaluate.
Let's start with the simplest children's applications that serve as bookmarks for books. Several options are possible.
For example, origami bookmarks can be made without the use of glue. In this case, designer paper with a pattern is well suited.
Let's make the simplest origami bookmark:
This is what our bookmark looks like on the page of the book. Holds up well.
Colorful fish, bats, cranes and butterflies will serve as a worthy exclusive decoration for any home. Probably, such work can be done by the whole family together.
In nature, butterflies strive for light, which can be depicted around a chandelier in an apartment. Flowers for decorating the walls of housing can be used in different ways.
For interior design, literally any of the techniques we have considered can be used, it is only important to give free rein to imagination. DIY paper decorations can be made according to the illustration, which is self-explanatory.
Paper snowflakes are a classic of the genre. They are cut out by both adults and children, both at home and at work, and at school.
Volumetric snowflakes are especially lovely. Their complexity is apparent, such are easily made by small children.
Let's get back to decorating the interior, now for the New Year. Colored paper crafts are especially appropriate in this case, since their bright unusualness is especially good in combination with cheapness and a short service life.
Unusual paper flowers can be made in many ways
Undoubtedly, flowers from a variety of papers occupy a special place. Let's evaluate the most common technologies for their manufacture.
The most uncomplicated are the very applications with which we began our story. For many, this is the first gift for mom on March 8, made on their own.
Unusual 3D handmade flowers are, of course, more difficult. But there is an opportunity to create a real work of art.
One of the options is quilling flowers. You will have to work hard on such creations, but the result is clearly worth it.
In the photo we have the already mentioned strips of paper. Certain types of flowers from such material are obtained as real ones.
We keep our promise to introduce crepe paper flowers. Obviously, this material is suitable for simulating them better than anyone else. Both individual flowers and bouquets are very close in appearance to their natural counterparts.
Do-it-yourself paper toys
A variety of things are made from ordinary paper! All homemade products are definitely not counted.
Before us is a paper machine gun that shoots the same bullets. To make a toy, you should use the material of the article

How to make tropical paper orchids
Tropical orchids are quite expensive, but you can make them out of paper if you love these flowers but don't want to spend your money.
Tools you will need:
- orchid pattern;
- desktop printer;
- scissors;
- glue;
- paper.
STEP 1
Print and cut out all the orchid petals that are indicated in the template in the selected color.
Then print, cut out the center of the orchid on the second colored paper, the sheet template on the green paper. Cut out two sets of petals, one center, two leaves for each flower.
STEP 2
Use the edge of the scissors to twist each petal and the center piece. Fold the leaves in half. Fold each petal back to form a bowl shape. Roll both sides on the leaves.
STEP 3
Attach each layer with hot glue. The largest of the three petal shapes is placed at the bottom with the curved petals up, following it, glue a two-piece petal in the center and the central part on top of the two layers of petals.
STEP 4
Attach the sheets by flipping the flower over and placing two sheets at the back.
STEP 5
To make a hair clip, bracelet, or gift wrap, glue a fastener to the back of the flower.
STEP 6
Attach the stem. For an orchid on a stem, bend the end of the wire at an angle. Cut out a small leaf shape, making a one-third cut down the center, and pass the corner of the wire into this crease. Glue the petal and wire to the back of the orchid.
STEP 7
You can use ready-made orchids not only in decor, but also in order to make a gift, a bouquet, wear them on a sweater or in your hair.
STEP 8

flower garlands
Get in the mood for playfulness with these easy-to-make 3D Paper Flowers.
You will need:
- glue gun;
- scissors;
- glue stick;
- decorative tape;
- colored paper.
STEP 1
Choose colors
Choose matching colors for a balanced color scheme. For a monochromatic approach, consider layered hues and shades of a single color. For a more multi-colored effect, mix together those shades that differ in contrast.
For a more feminine look, stick with muted colors and pastels mixed with neutrals like taupe, tan, or soft grey.
STEP 2
Fold in half
Use square sheets, as rosebuds are perfectly round. Rectangular papers should be cut to a square state. The first step in this process is to fold each piece of square paper in half.
STEP 3
Fold in a quarter
After everything has been evenly folded in half, fold it again into a quarter.
STEP 4
Turn a square into a circle
After folding the quarter, use scissors to round off the edge.
STEP 5
Expand the circle
Expand to open the form. If you managed to create a perfect sphere, it's time to move on to the next step; however, if the result is oblong or oval, it is better to repeat the previous step until a perfect circle is created.
STEP 6
Starting at the outer edge and working your way to the center, cut out solid circles in a spiral pattern.
STEP 7
Form the center of the flower
As you reach the end of the circle when cutting the spirals, leave an oval tab at the end about 2 cm in diameter. This is the part of each paper bud that will hold the spirals together with the glue.
